Job summary

First Solar, Inc. in Ohio is seeking a maintenance technician to support installation, qualification, and ongoing service of manufacturing equipment.

You will troubleshoot daily issues, perform timely repairs, and contribute to throughput and product performance; training production associates as needed. The role requires a HS diploma, technical experience, and hands-on mechanical/electrical skills; occasional travel and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Associate degree in a technical discipline for alternative qualification.
• Two or more years machine or mechanic experience as primary function.
• One year First Solar technical experience.
• Six months Associate EMT at First Solar with rating of 5 or higher.

Responsibilities

• Solves day-to-day production, equipment, and process problems.
• Performs on-site service and repair of equipment.
• Identifies and implements yield and product performance improvements.
• Accomplishes daily assignments as scheduled and directed.
• Develops methods to assign causes to yield excursions.
• Sets up and maintains gauges.
• Ensures processes run on target per the Process Control Plan.
• Responds to SPC alarms and brings processes back into control.
• Executes planned process experiments, analyzes data, and reports results.
• Transcribes data related to daily tool performance and product performance.
