Job summary

Altus Group is seeking a Technical Engineering Manager to lead and grow engineering teams across AWS-native platforms. You’ll shape technical strategy with product and architecture, uphold high engineering standards, and foster a safe, collaborative culture that emphasizes AI-enabled quality and pragmatic innovation.

You will mentor engineers, manage performance, and drive delivery with Agile/Lean practices while balancing feature work with technical debt and platform health.

Qualifications

• Strong background in software engineering and people management.
• Experience leading high-performing engineering teams.
• Delivery experience with customer-facing web applications.
• Comfortable working in Agile environments with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Hands-on experience using or introducing AI/ML tools within engineering teams.

• Lead, grow and support inclusive engineering teams.
• Create a high-trust, psychologically safe environment where people feel supported and accountable.
• Hire and onboard new team members, provide regular feedback and development plans; manage performance conversations with empathy.
• Maintain understanding of team strengths, skills and future needs.
• Support engineers and partners in Agile/Lean practices.
• Shape technical strategy with Product and Architecture; deliver AWS-native and cloud platforms.
• Set engineering standards across code quality, testing, CI/CD, observability and documentation.
• Stay connected to design reviews and architecture discussions; coach hands-on.
• Balance new feature delivery with technical debt, reliability and security.
• Remove blockers and risks to enable predictable delivery.
