Job summary

Secretariat invites experienced technologists to join its Technology Disputes team as an Associate focused on coding review. You will review and analyze code in complex commercial disputes, explain technical concepts in plain English, and assist in preparing expert reports for hearings and trials.

The role requires strong analytical skills, ability to read multiple languages, and excellent communication. Some travel and US work authorization are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Economics with CS emphasis, from an accredited university
• 1–3 years of software development or code review experience preferred
• Ability to read and code in common languages: C++, C#, Java, Python, SQL, HTML

Responsibilities

• Conduct code review and analysis in existing software
• Analyze if code is unique or from open sources and what task it performs
• Prepare memos and expert reports detailing findings in plain English
• Prepare rebuttal expert reports evaluating others’ conclusions
• Communicate with clients and counsel
• Prepare testifying experts for hearings, trials, and mediations
• Manage day-to-day requirements of multiple engagements
