Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior Manager, Compensation – Tech to lead compensation design, governance and analytics for GM's Software & Services, Autonomous/AV, Cybersecurity and Data & AI domains.

You will manage a small team (2–4), partner with HRBPs and business leaders to define proactive pay strategies for critical tech roles and premium families, and translate strategies into scalable frameworks.

Qualifications

8-10+ years of compensation experience with 3+ years in leadership or advisory roles.
Experience supporting technology organizations (software, data/AI, cybersecurity, AV) is strongly preferred.
Proven ability to design and implement tech compensation programs (base, incentives, equity).
Strong analytical skills; proficient with Excel, HRIS, and data visualization tools.

Responsibilities

Lead tech compensation strategy and design for GM's Software & Services, AV, and related domains.
Translate business and talent needs into compensation frameworks and guidelines.
Partner with HRBPs, Talent Acquisition and leaders to define proactive pay strategies for critical tech roles.
Evolve job architecture and leveling aligning with enterprise frameworks and scalability.
Own analytics, market intel and cost models to inform hiring, retention, and adjustments.
Benchmark and position GM's tech compensation across geographies; ensure equity and competitiveness.
Governance, compliance and executive interfaces; contribute to leadership and board reporting.
Lead and develop a small team (2–4) of compensation professionals.
