Job summary

General Motors seeks a Senior Manager, Compensation – Tech to lead design, governance, and analytics for compensation programs across GM’s technology teams. You will guide pay strategies for software, AI, cybersecurity, and data roles, partnering with HRBPs and business leaders.

You will manage a small team (2–4) of compensation professionals, driving data-driven decisions, market benchmarking, and scalable solutions in a remote-enabled environment.

Qualifications

• 8-10+ years of progressive experience in compensation, with leadership experience in tech roles.
• Experience designing and implementing compensation programs for tech talent (base, incentives, equity).
• Strong analytical skills with Excel and BI tools; familiarity with HRIS and data visualization.
• Deep knowledge of survey methodologies and market pricing tools; tech market benchmarking across geographies.
• Proven ability to influence senior leaders with data-driven insights and storytelling.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and governance of tech compensation structures and programs, including base, incentives, and equity.
• Partner with HRBPs, Talent Acquisition, and business leaders to define proactive compensation strategies for tech roles.
• Develop and maintain job architecture and leveling aligned with enterprise frameworks.
• Provide executive-ready insights and recommendations on market data and compensation dynamics.
