Job summary

Heritage Auctions is seeking a Director to acquire high-quality consignments of collectible and historically significant technology for auction. You will build and expand the Technology category, evaluate authenticity and provenance, and collaborate on marketing and sales strategies.

Strong business development and negotiation skills are essential. The role requires deep knowledge of technology history, a robust client network, and willingness to travel to meet consignors and review properties

Qualifications

• 10+ years experience in collectible technology, auctions, or archival setting.
• Strong knowledge of technology history and collectible electronics.
• Familiarity with authentication, provenance research, and condition assessment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior management to develop strategies for launching and expanding the Technology category.
• Source consignments from private collectors, estates, inventors, engineers, and institutions.
• Evaluate items for authenticity, provenance, condition, rarity, and auction value.
• Identify significant production variants, prototypes, and historically important devices.
• Negotiate Terms of Consignment and maintain consignor relationships.
• Oversee catalog production with catalogers, photographers, and marketing teams.
• Travel to meet clients and review collections as needed.
