Job summary

Heritage Auctions, located south of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, is seeking a seasoned professional to build and manage the Technology consignments category. You will source premier collectibles, assess authenticity and provenance, and collaborate on marketing and sales strategies to grow the business.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in collectible technology, deep knowledge of tech history, and strong negotiation skills, with proven business development in the collectibles market.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in collectible technology or related field.
• Strong knowledge of technology history and collectible electronics.
• Familiarity with major technology manufacturers and product generations.
• Proven experience acquiring and managing high-value consignments or developing business in collectibles.
• Experience with appraisals, auctions, or collection management is preferred.
• Knowledge of authentication, provenance research, and handling of vintage electronics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior management to develop strategies for expanding the Technology category.
• Source consignments from private collectors, estates, engineers, and institutions.
• Evaluate items for authenticity, provenance, condition, rarity, and auction value.
• Identify production variants, prototypes, and historic devices relevant to collecting trends.
• Negotiate terms of consignment and maintain consignor relationships.
• Oversee catalog production with catalogers, researchers, photographers, and marketing.
• Ensure catalog descriptions document specifications, provenance, and condition.
• Represent Heritage Auctions at technology events and conventions.
• Expand client database among technology and electronics communities.
• Travel to meet clients, review collections, and vet properties for consignment.
