Job summary

Heritage Auctions, based near Dallas, TX, seeks a senior leader to acquire high-quality technology consignments and grow the technology category. You will build a broad client base, negotiate terms, and oversee cataloging with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate provenance and condition reporting.

You will travel to meet clients, review collections, and vet property for consignment while staying current on technology history and market trends.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in collectible technology, consumer electronics, or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of technology history and collectible electronics.
• Familiarity with major technology manufacturers, product generations, and market trends.
• Proven experience acquiring and managing high-value consignments or developing business in a specialized category.
• Experience with appraisals, auctions, private treaty sales, or collection management preferred.
• Knowledge of authentication, provenance research, and safe handling of vintage electronics preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior management to develop strategies for launching and expanding the Technology category.
• Source high-quality consignments from collectors, estates, inventors, engineers, and institutions.
• Evaluate items for authenticity, provenance, condition, rarity, and auction value.
• Identify significant variants, prototypes, and notable devices connected to important milestones.
• Negotiate terms of consignment and maintain consignor relationships.
• Oversee catalog production with catalogers, researchers, photographers, and marketing teams.
• Ensure catalog descriptions document specifications, condition, provenance, and functionality.
• Represent Heritage Auctions at technology conventions and collector events.
• Expand the client database by engaging new consignors and bidders in technology collecting communities.
