Job summary

Catholic Charities of Boston seeks a part-time IT and workforce development coordinator to support adult immigrant learners through job-focused coaching and placement support. You will connect participants with IT/cybersecurity training, assess strengths, and guide them in resumes, interviews, and job search strategies.

The role involves working across community locations, collaborating with employers, and maintaining records to track placement outcomes and progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in HR, business, information technology, or related field.
• Minimum 1 year experience in job placement and recruiting in the IT industry.
• Understanding of IT labor market requirements and trends.
• Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working with multicultural and multilingual populations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Connect IT/Cybersecurity training program for participants with meaningful job opportunities, internships, and potential employers.
• Evaluate a client’s skills, work history, interests, strengths, and growth areas for employment in desired career or industry sector.
• Provide program participants with individualized coaching on resume writing, interview preparation, searching and applying for jobs, and workplace culture.
• Teach effective job search strategies.
• Establish and cultivate relationships with human resource managers, recruiting firms, career centers and employers to find job opportunities for program participants.
• Advocate for clients and match their specific skill sets with open positions at companies.
• Assist clients through the onboarding and hiring process.
• Provide post-placement support to ensure job retention for both the employee and the employer.
• Maintain accurate case notes, track job placement metrics, and report data using designated databases as required by the agency and/or contracting entity.
• Work is performed in multiple locations within the community and in general office settings with frequent use of computers and other standard office equipment.
• Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
• Attendance and active participation at staff meetings, internal and external training, and professional development opportunities.
• Local travel as needed
