Job summary

Catholic Charities of Boston seeks an IT Job Developer and Career Coach to connect participants with internships and employment opportunities in IT/Cybersecurity. You will assess skills, design individual coaching plans, and guide job search preparedness.

Role focuses on resume writing, interviewing, and workplace culture, with outreach to employers and HR managers. Local travel and community-based work are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent degree in HR, business administration, information technology, or related field.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in job placement and recruiting in the IT industry.
• Understanding of the IT labor market requirements and trends.
• Excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working with multicultural and multilingual populations is preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and Outlook and virtual platforms such as Zoom and Teams.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required for local travel.

Responsibilities

• Connect IT/Cybersecurity training program for participants with meaningful job opportunities, internships, and potential employers.
• Evaluate a client’s skills, work history, interests, strengths, and growth areas for employment in desired career or industry sector.
• Provide program participants with individualized coaching on resume writing, interview preparation, searching and applying for jobs, and workplace culture.
• Teach effective job search strategies.
• Establish and cultivate relationships with human resource managers, recruiting firms, career centers and employers to find job opportunities for program participants.
• Advocate for clients and match their specific skill sets with open positions at companies.
• Assist clients through the onboarding and hiring process.
• Provide post-placement support to ensure job retention for both the employee and the employer.
• Maintain accurate case notes, track job placement metrics, and report data using designated databases as required by the agency and/or contracting entity.
• Work is performed in multiple locations within the community and in general office settings with frequent use of computers and other standard office equipment.
• Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality.
• Attendance and active participation at staff meetings, internal and external training, and professional development opportunities.
• Local travel as needed
