Job summary

WithumSmith+Brown, PC in Los Angeles or San Francisco seeks a Tech Audit Senior to lead audit engagements, supervise staff, and coordinate planning to deliver top-tier client service. You will oversee risk assessment, fieldwork, and financial reporting, collaborating with partners to resolve complex accounting issues and build strong client relationships while traveling as needed.

You’ll work with seasoned CPAs and industry leaders as part of an integrated team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
• Licensed CPA, or working towards CPA certification.
• At least 2 years of public accounting experience with leadership of multiple engagements.
• Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills including familiarity with US GAAP.
• Strong client service and communication abilities with proven relationships.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements in a fast-paced, interactive team environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the engagement team on planning and execution of audit, review or compilation engagements.
• Oversee day-to-day operations from staffing to risk assessment, fieldwork and reporting.
• Provide supervision and mentorship to staff and communicate with managers and partners.
• Collaborate on client issue resolutions and advise on regulatory and accounting matters.
• Review general ledger accounts for accuracy and manage multiple engagements to deadlines.
• Create and monitor engagement budgets and discuss improvements with the team.
• Engage in professional development activities as an instructor or discussion leader.

But our commitment goes beyond our clients as we continue to live the Withum Way, promoting personal and professional growth for all team members, clients, and surrounding communities. **How You’ll Spend Your Time:*** Leading the engagement team staff on the planning and execution of an audit, review or compilation engagement to effectively and efficiently provide world-class client service* Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the audit engagement from staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, financial reporting and the conclusion* Providing supervision and support to the engagement staff and promote open communication to the engagement manager and partner* Collaborating with managers and partners on client issue resolutions and making recommendations for any legal, regulatory and accounting issues that arise during an audit engagement* Reviewing all scheduled and non-scheduled general ledger accounts for accurate entries* Managing multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to efficiently meet client deadlines* Creating and tracking engagement budgets to review for inefficiencies that may arise during the audit* Conducting constructive discussions with team members on their evaluations and providing counsel accordingly* Serving in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader**The Kinds of People We Want to Talk to Have Many of The Following:** * Bachelor's Degree in Accounting* Licensed CPA, or working towards CPA certification* At least 2 years of public accounting experience, with experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff* Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills including familiarity with US GAAP due to the complexity of the engagements in this sector* Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships* Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment* Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the Firm well to client’s management* Excellent analytical, organizational, project management skills, strong attention to detail, and proven innovative problem-solving skill* Ability to travel as neededThe compensation for this position ranges by location.
