Job summary

WithumSmith+Brown, PC is seeking a Tech Audit Supervisor to lead audit engagements from planning to completion, oversee staff, and foster strong client relationships in San Francisco or Los Angeles.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Accounting and CPA license, with 3+ years in public accounting and experience guiding multiple engagements. The role supports a hybrid work model and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• CPA license is required or preferred.
• Experience leading multiple audit engagements and supervising staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead engagement planning and execution for audit, review or compilation engagements.
• Oversee day-to-day audit engagement operations including staffing, risk assessment, fieldwork and financial reporting.
• Provide supervision and mentoring to staff, seniors and supervisors and communicate with engagement partner.
• Manage multiple engagements concurrently and monitor engagement budgets.

But our commitment goes beyond our clients as we continue to live the Withum Way, promoting personal and professional growth for all team members, clients, and surrounding communities.How You’ll Spend Your Time:Leading the engagement team staff on the planning and execution of an audit, review or compilation engagement to effectively and efficiently provide world-class client service to clientsOverseeing the day-to-day operations of the audit engagement from staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, financial reporting and the conclusionProviding supervision and support to the engagement staff, seniors and supervisors and promote open communication to the engagement partnerCollaborating with engagement team seniors or supervisors and partners on client issue resolution and make recommendations for any legal, regulatory and accounting issues that arise during an audit engagementManaging multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to efficiently meet client deadlinesCreating and tracking engagement budgets to review for inefficiencies that may arise during the audit \Conduct constructive discussions with team members on their evaluations and providing counsel accordinglyServing in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leaderThe Kinds of People We Want to Talk to Have Many of The Following:Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and CPA licenseAt least 3 years of public accounting experience, with experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staffExperience auditing healthcare systems and hospitals is preferred but not requiredExcellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills including familiarity with US GAAPExceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationshipsAbility to manage multiple engagements and competing projectsStrong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the Firm well to client’s managementExcellent analytical, organizational, project management skills, strong attention to detail, and proven innovative problem-solving skillsAbility to travel as needed based on client assignmentsThe compensation for this position will vary by location.
