Responsibilities
The Anesthesia Technician functions under the supervision of an Anesthesiologist, CRNA or Registered Nurse and performs delegated functions. Provides safe, effective cleaning of all equipment in compliance with safety and infection control standards. Assumes responsibility to order and prepare supplies and equipment as needed by the Anesthesiologist for surgical procedures in this preparation, observes Universal Precautions and is responsible for meeting the Standards of Care. Patient age may be from neonate to geriatric.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience: Minimum two years anesthesia or critical care background.
Technical Skills: Ability to operate or ability to learn to operate equipment used in performing job responsibilities.
License/Certification: Certification as Anesthesia Technician by the American Society of Anesthesia Technicians and Technologist. BLS required.
Other: Able to use PC for billing, QI entry and inventory management.
