Tyson Foods invites applications for a Tech Advisor Broiler I on 1st shift in Forest, MS. This role provides technical support to producers, ensuring proper care and comfort for the company's birds and coordinating with Hatchery, Feedmill, and Livehaul teams.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in agriculture or related field and 1+ years in poultry or agriculture, with strong communication and basic computer skills. Travel of 1–5 trips per year is expected.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills with clear verbal and written communication.
  • Basic computer skills (email, data entry, simple queries).
  • 1+ years’ experience in a poultry or agriculture-related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Advise producers on building and equipment specifications, litter manipulation, and farm sanitation.
  • Visit farms to document bird comfort, manage flock and equipment settings, monitor bird health and provide remedy.
  • Monitor feed consumption and order/feed adjustments as needed.
  • Pull blood and fat samples as required.
  • Coordinate chick placements to farms and assist with catch schedules.
  • Ensure communication among Hatchery, Feedmill, and Livehaul departments regarding contract farms.
  • Ensure compliance with production contracts to optimize flock quality and minimize costs.
  • Adhere to USDA and other regulations regarding poultry handling.
  • Coordinate with Broiler and Breeder Departments for weekly chick placements.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
