You will work with hatchery, feed mill, and live haul teams, monitor health, sanitation, and compliance with USDA regulations, helping optimize flock performance and cost.
This position is responsible for providing technical assistance to producers caring for company's birds in regards to the proper care and comfort.
Advising producers regarding building and equipment specificationsLitter manipulation and farm sanitationDocumenting bird comfortManagement of the flock and equipment settingsMonitoring bird health and providing remedy when possibleMonitoring feed consumption and ordering feed if necessaryPulling blood and fat samples on time when requiredWhen required, coordinating chick placements to the farms and helping with catch schedulesEnsuring communication between hatchery feed mill and live haul as it pertains to their contract farmsInsuring producer and company are in compliance with the production contract so as to produce flocks of the highest quality and lowest cost due to good performanceEnsuring all USDA and other government regulations are followed when handling poultryOverseeing adherence of Tyson's animal welfare policy on farms by the growers. Working with the Broiler and Breeder Departments in coordinating weekly chick placementsPerforming other responsibilities as the need arises
Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent preferred.Experience: 1 plus years in farm or animal husbandry preferredComputer Skills: Basic computer skills.Travel: 1 to 5 trips per yearRelocation Assistance Eligible:YesWork Shift:1ST SHIFT (United States of America)Certain roles at Tyson require background checks.
