Job summary

Tyson Foods, Inc. is seeking a Poultry Farm Technical Specialist to provide on-site technical assistance to producers, advising on building specs, litter, sanitation, and flock management. You will document bird comfort and coordinate feed and lighting schedules.

Travel 1–5 trips per year is required. The role includes communication with hatchery, feed mill, vaccination crews, and live-haul teams to ensure USDA compliance and lowest cost while maintaining high flock quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year in breeder tech role preferred.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Advise producers on building and equipment specs.
• Manage litter manipulation, farm sanitation, and bird comfort.
• Monitor health, egg production, body weight, and conformation.
• Coordinate feed and light schedules with hatchery and live-haul teams.
• Ensure contract compliance and safe handling per USDA regs.

Job Details:SUMMARY: This position is responsible for providing technical assistance to producers caring for company's birds in regard to the proper care and comfort. Duties would include but are not limited to advising producers regarding building and equipment specifications litter manipulation and farm sanitation farm visits to include documenting bird comfort management of the flock and equipment settings directing feed and light schedules monitoring bird health egg production body weight and conformation and providing remedy when possible monitoring feed consumption pulling blood and fat samples on time when required coordinating bird placements to the farms and helping with catch schedules and ensuring communication between hatchery feed mill vaccination crews and live-haul as it pertains to their contract farms and in all areas insuring producer and company are in compliance with the production contract so as to produce flocks of the highest quality and lowest cost due to good performance and for ensuring all USDA and other government regulations are followed when handling poultry.
