Job summary

Horizons Youth Services at Milwaukee Job Corps Center is seeking a TEAP Specialist to serve as the center's drug and alcohol abuse counselor. The role focuses on prevention education and counseling for teens and young adults to improve employability and well-being.

The position requires a Bachelor's Degree with an active license and/or CSAC certification, plus at least one year of experience. A valid state driver’s license is also required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with active, unrestricted license or CSAC certification per state regulations.
• One year of experience required.
• Certification/licensure (CSAC) and driver’s license may be required as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide a minimum 1-hour interactive substance use prevention presentation for new students.
• Schedule and conduct at least three annual substance use prevention activities.
• Collaborate with Center Mental Health Consultant and Wellness Manager on prevention efforts.
• Review intake assessments within 1 week of arrival.
• Provide individual and group counseling focusing on employability barriers.
• Develop and monitor student intervention plans and health records.
• Train staff on alcohol and other drugs of abuse annually.
