Overall Job Summary: This position is responsible for interacting with customers and team members, supporting selling initiatives, and performing assigned tasks while providing legendary customer service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%)

• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Work scheduled shifts with varied hours, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Support selling initiatives: thank customers, engage with them and their pets, advise on products, and make their experience memorable.
• Perform duties such as operating cash register, merchandise recovery, participating in freight process, completing plan-o-gram procedures, assembling merchandise, janitorial duties, executing price changes, assisting with loading purchases, ensuring animal safety and care, and completing related documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• No experience required; retail or pet knowledge preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, write, and count accurately is essential.

Preferred Skills and Abilities

• Pet/live animal knowledge preferred.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills.

Working Conditions

• Indoor environment with moderate noise; outdoor areas are hard surfaces.
• Shifts generally range from 4 to over 8 hours.
• Adherence to safety guidelines is required.

Physical Requirements

• Must have stamina to move throughout the store and outdoor areas.
• Ability to lift or reach overhead, stand, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders.
• Operate equipment safely and accurately.
• Move merchandise and live animals weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Complete training and certification as required.
