Recess Hotel & Club Savannah is opening a dedicated Team Member Café and culinary operation. We are seeking a dependable Cafeteria Cook to support daily meal prep and service for our team members, with flexibility to assist across outlets as needed.

The role focuses on preparing fresh, consistent meals, maintaining a clean and stocked workspace, and collaborating with chefs to meet quality standards. Onsite in Savannah, GA, with caring, team-oriented culture.

Qualifications

• Previous cook, prep cook, cafeteria, restaurant, or professional kitchen experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and safe food handling practices.
• Ability to follow recipes, directions, and established food preparation standards.
• Strong organization and time-management skills with the ability to stay on schedule.
• Dependable team player with a positive attitude and willingness to help across the culinary operation.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, food quality, and consistency.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to perform frequent standing, bending, lifting, and other physical movement required in a professional kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve daily meals for the Recess Team Member Café according to established menus, recipes, and quality standards.
• Complete daily prep and production to ensure food is fresh, appealing, and ready for scheduled meal periods.
• Maintain appropriate food levels throughout service and replenish items as needed.
• Assist with food preparation and production for restaurants, banquets, and other culinary operations based on business needs.
• Follow proper food handling, storage, labeling, sanitation, and temperature-control standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked kitchen and service area.
• Communicate with Chefs regarding prep needs, product levels, and operational priorities.
• Use ingredients thoughtfully, minimize waste, and help maintain consistent quality and portioning.
• Support fellow culinary team members and contribute wherever additional help is needed.
