Recess Hotel & Club is hiring a Cafeteria Cook to support the Team Member Café and broader culinary operation in Savannah, GA. This onsite role focuses on preparing fresh meals and maintaining a clean, well-stocked work area, with opportunities to assist in restaurants and banquets as needed.

The ideal candidate has a passion for hospitality, follows recipes, and demonstrates good food safety practices in a collaborative kitchen environment. We value reliability and a team-first attitude.

Qualifications

• This role requires previous cook or kitchen experience.
• Ability to follow recipes, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Strong organization and teamwork in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Comfort with flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and serve daily meals for the Team Member Café according to menus and standards.
• Complete daily prep and production to keep food ready and fresh.
• Maintain clean, organized, and stocked work areas and follow safety protocols.
• Assist with prep for restaurants, banquets, and other culinary operations as needed.
• Support chefs and communicate prep needs and priorities.

About the role

The Culinary team at Recess Hotel & Club is looking for a dependable Cafeteria Cook to support our Team Member Café and broader culinary operation.

This role is primarily responsible for preparing fresh, consistent meals for the team members who bring Recess to life every day. You’ll manage daily food preparation and service for the Team Member Café while maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked work area. Based on the needs of the operation, you may also assist with prep and production for our restaurants, banquets, and other culinary outlets.

This is a great opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys feeding others, and is comfortable supporting wherever the culinary team needs them most.

This is an onsite position located at Recess Hotel & Club in Savannah, Georgia.

What you'll do

• Prepare and serve daily meals for the Recess Team Member Café according to established menus, recipes, and quality standards
• Complete daily prep and production to ensure food is fresh, appealing, and ready for scheduled meal periods
• Maintain appropriate food levels throughout service and replenish items as needed
• Assist with food preparation and production for restaurants, banquets, and other culinary operations based on business needs
• Follow proper food handling, storage, labeling, sanitation, and temperature-control standards
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked kitchen and service area
• Communicate with Chefs regarding prep needs, product levels, and operational priorities
• Use ingredients thoughtfully, minimize waste, and help maintain consistent quality and portioning
• Support fellow culinary team members and contribute wherever additional help is needed

Qualifications

• Previous cook, prep cook, cafeteria, restaurant, or professional kitchen experience preferred
• Basic knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and safe food handling practices
• Ability to follow recipes, directions, and established food preparation standards
• Strong organization and time-management skills with the ability to stay on schedule
• Dependable team player with a positive attitude and willingness to help across the culinary operation
• Strong attention to cleanliness, food quality, and consistency
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Ability to perform frequent standing, bending, lifting, and other physical movement required in a professional kitchen
