This is a hybrid position requiring you to work from our Spokane, WA office Monday through Wednesday.
The purpose of this position is to lead the underwriting and production efforts of a practice team of underwriters within an assigned practice. The Underwriting Team Leader is responsible for day-to-day production, underwriting quality, account management, and referral authority. This position is responsible for the direction and management of up to eight direct reports, including small to middle market production underwriters working in an office and/or remote environment.
The Underwriting Team Leader provides technical direction to an underwriting team in the interpretation of Practice underwriting policies and procedures. This includes, but is not limited to, direct responsibility for new and existing business, acceptance, declination, workflow, department procedures, and proper application of corporate underwriting policies, procedures and compliance with Insurance regulations.
This position will also have individual production responsibilities involving large and more complex technical accounts as well as providing superior support to CIG top and or middle tier agents.
