Job summary

Engineering-Economics, Inc. (EEI) seeks a Team Leader / Project Manager to oversee commissioning, QA, and building performance projects. You will provide direct leadership to a team of technical professionals, manage client engagement, and help drive growth in the Oregon market.

The role involves planning, budgeting, scheduling, and hands-on technical oversight of MEP systems, with travel up to 75% and a hybrid work environment in the Portland area.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Building Sciences, or related technical field.
  • Experience in commissioning, project management, building systems, construction, engineering, or related technical consulting environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading project teams and managing technical professionals.
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, resources, client relationships, and project deliverables.
  • Strong knowledge of MEP systems, controls, commissioning processes, and building performance principles.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. full-time.

Responsibilities

  • Lead commissioning and quality assurance projects from planning through closeout.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, staffing plans, resources, deliverables, and overall performance.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for clients, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Provide technical leadership for commissioning activities, testing, troubleshooting, QA, and verification of MEP and control systems.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of commissioning professionals.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, identify opportunities for growth and new business.
  • Support team operations through resource planning, onboarding, and process improvements.
