Job summary

Woodlands Pet Food & Treats is seeking a Pet-Passionate Team Leader (key-holder) for our Tiburon/Greenbrae/Novato stores. You’ll train, supervise, and engage with customers and their pets in a fast-paced, pet-loving environment.

We offer paid sick time, employee discounts, and a culture that values hands-on care, holistic pet products, and strong teamwork. This is a full-time, 30–40 hour/week position with store-wide responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Must have contagious enthusiasm for pets and people.
• Previous supervisory position is required.
• Willing to work weekday mornings, evenings and weekends.
• Available to start before 9AM and/or stay after 8PM.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs regularly.
• Love learning about animals and pet care.
• Must be able to travel to Tiburon/Greenbrae/Novato locations.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and their pets and provide thoughtful service.
• Open/close tasks and cashier duties.
• Maintain clean pet wash and stock shelves after deliveries.
• Carry purchases to customers’ cars and keep store orderly.
• Help manage store cats’ feeding and care.
• Support team with daily banking and deliveries checks.
• Provide clear direction and handle customer situations.

We're looking for full-time (30 to 40 hours/week) key-holders with retail experience and a desire to develop a long-term career. You're a smart, high-energy, positive-minded pet lover. Maybe your skills have gone unnoticed at Petco or PFE, and you think you'd be a better fit at a smaller store more intensely focused on helping pets and their owners. Or maybe you're currently under-appreciated in a larger corporate retail environment and would like to have more of an impact on your store. We'll train you about the pet world and our role in it. You are applying to our Tiburon store.

Interviews and Basic Training take place in our Novato store. After training, most of your shifts will be in your Home Store, but you will get to work in all 3 locations (Tiburon, Greenbrae, and Novato).

Required

Extra Credit

• Retail or business experience related to pets
• Familiarity with holistic & healthy pet foods
• Strong interest in the diet of pets, and all aspects of pet care
• Volunteered and/or supported non-profit animal rescue organizations

Basic Duties

• Greet customers & pets: Be the reason they don't want to shop online!
• Provide thoughtful customer service & advice
• Opening / Closing tasks
• Retail Cashier
• Clean the pet wash
• Stock shelves after deliveries
• Carry customer purchases out to the car
• Keep the store neat, clean, and orderly
• Feed and clean up after the store cats

Key-Holder / Manager Duties

• All of the above, plus:
• Open and Close the stores, as scheduled
• Execute opening and closing procedures
• Provide clear, helpful direction to other team members
• Handle sticky customer situations
• Make daily bank deposits
• Accurately check-in load on delivery days and make sure it is stocked properly on the floor
• Seek out pet-related information for you and your team

This position it typically full-time (5 days and 31 to 40 hours per week). As a retail store, everyone is expected to be able to work during the day, evenings, and on weekends. We have three locations, and you will be scheduled to work in all, but Tiburon will be your "home store."We provide a fun and friendly atmosphere, competitive pay and a great opportunity for people interested in a healthy, holistic approach to animal care.
