Job summary

State Highway Administration seeks a Team Leader (Transportation Design Engineer V) to supervise and coordinate complex design work for Traffic Control Devices and Intelligent Transportation Systems statewide.

You will lead a team of licensed and non-licensed engineers and consultants, oversee budgets and schedules, and review designs for multiple projects while promoting design standards and best practices.

Qualifications

• One year of experience managing engineering projects as a licensed, professional engineer.
• One year of experience in the design and management of Traffic Control Devices (TCD) design and/or Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) design projects.
• Candidate must possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in Maryland.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, manage, administer, and coordinate complex TCD and ITS designs statewide.
• Guide budgets, processes, and standards for TCD/ITS design; track expenditures for consultants and contracts.
• Train, guide, and coach in-house designers, technicians, and engineers.
