Job summary

Responsibilities include directing PS&E phases, budget negotiation, consultant management, and staff training. This position demands driving a state vehicle and working at the Georgetown Area Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related science; TX PELS eligible.
• 8 years of engineering/transportation experience; graduate substitution allowed.
• Licensed Professional Engineer; Texas or reciprocity required/achievable.

Responsibilities

• Acts as liaison with divisions, MPOs, cities, counties and other governmental entities for traffic management and safety projects.
• Coordinates PS&E design phases with districts, FHWA, and contractors.
• Develops goals and coordinates planning activities and resources.
• Negotiates fees, scopes of work, contracts, and schedules with consultants.
• Reviews PS&E submissions and oversees complex engineering designs.
• Functions as project manager for consultants and advanced engineering work.
• Trains engineering staff and applies project management principles to transportation projects.
• Other duties as assigned; requires driving a state vehicle.
