Position Summary

The Technology Team Lead is a subject matter expert (SME) and a key resource for the Technology team. This role oversees the daily technical execution of software development projects, provides team leadership including task assignment, ensures adherence to best practices, and assists with estimating work timelines and requirements. The associate actively participates in coding and architecture responsibilities, driving the development of technical solutions aligned with Agile methodologies.

Essential Functions and Duties

1. Team Leadership (40%)
   • Serve as a role model and primary contact for team members.
   • Manage work distribution to ensure balanced workload and appropriate skillset alignment.
   • Provide technical coaching and mentorship to team members.
   • Ensure regular peer code reviews.
   • Estimate sprint points or man-hours for project delivery.
   • Maintain team efficiency and effectiveness.
   • Uphold high standards of software quality through good practices.
   • Streamline communication and processes across departments.
2. Software Development (25%)
   • Design, code, and implement features, stories, and tasks.
   • Document software architecture and processes.
   • Create code that is readable, maintainable, and reusable.
   • Conduct peer reviews and ensure unit tests are written and passed.
   • Collaborate with QA to define testing strategies.
3. Project/Solution Management (20%)
   • Act as the primary interface between Product & Tech teams.
   • Translate business needs into technical requirements via user stories and tasks.
   • Drive feature development and project progress.
   • Coordinate with Product Owners on release planning.
   • Keep leadership informed of progress, wins, and challenges.
4. Software Architecture/Design (15%)
   • Design technical solutions ensuring team alignment.
   • Document solutions per standards.
   • Provide expertise on product enhancements and new ideas.
   • Lead R&D initiatives, mindful of cloud costs.
   • Promote architecture best practices like API First and Infrastructure as Code.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of software development and architecture experience.
• 5+ years of Azure Cloud experience; certifications preferred.
• 5+ years of Agile methodologies experience.
• Full stack development experience is a plus.
• Previous team leadership experience is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Expertise in Azure cloud development with C#, Python, .NET.
• Proficiency with Azure Portal, Azure DevOps/Git, CI/CD.
• Experience with API-first development and Azure API Management.
• Knowledge of React Native, Swift, Objective C, Kotlin.
• Relational database and SQL skills.
• Front-end skills with Bootstrap, JQuery, React, Javascript.
• Salesforce development skills with Apex and Lightning Web Components.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Discretion with sensitive information.
• Mentoring and motivating capabilities.
• Proficiency with Office 365 tools.
