Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6.
  • At least 7 years of relevant working experience.
  • Ability to work legally in the United States; no visa support available.

About you and this role

Dow has an exciting opportunity for an HR Technology Functional Lead! This position can be located in Midland (MI, USA), Houston (TX, USA), Sao Paulo (BRA) or Terneuzen (NLD). In this role, you will work with the HR Discipline Leaders and Product Leads to provide consulting support for future improvements and functionality within our core technologies. You will play a key role in HR continuous improvement projects, including requirements, designs, testing, implementation, and end user support.


This role will require specialized, in-depth knowledge and advanced expertise in your discipline or functional area. You will need to analyze and identify internal and external business challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or services. You should be able to communicate difficult concepts to others and persuade others to adopt a different point of view.

It is your responsibility to be able to use sophisticated analytical thought and judgement to identify innovative solutions. You will need to be able to lead others to solve complex problems and potentially lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Your performance impacts business direction through the development of new products or services.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in improvement initiatives.
  • Define requirements and use cases and collaborate with team members to translate into configuration.
  • Partner with specialists to ensure consistency in process governance and communication to global teams.
  • Stay up to date on latest technology offerings and evaluating appropriateness of deployment.
  • Participate in system development and build activities.
  • Create test plans and/or scripts and participate in testing activities as they align with the testing strategy.
  • Participate in business case development, providing input into benefits and strategic alignment of opportunities utilizing business process knowledge and business / functional understanding.
  • Identify and escalate issues to manage risk and ensure on time solution delivery.
  • Collaborate with Discipline Leaders and Talent Acquisition SMEs to support business process improvements and functionality enhancements.
  • Partner cross functionally with other teams to ensure work process and functional integrations.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant ranking.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant working experience.
  • For U.S. Applicants: A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Your Skills

  • Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS): Experience managing HR Technology or Business Process Outsourcing vendor relationships.
  • Systems Development: Experience leading systems development lifecycle for HR enhancement requests, configuration and change requests ideally in Agile methodology.
  • Project Management: Experience managing small-to-medium sized technical projects.
  • Data Privacy: Knowledge of HR data privacy principles and experience handling confidential HR data and records consistent with those practices.
  • Influencing Skills: Ability to persuade and encourage others to collaborate effectively.
  • Track record of leading courageously, delivering innovative solutions, and generating customer value.
