Job summary

The State of Alaska, Department of Education & Early Development, seeks an Education Associate 3 to lead the Teacher Certification office in Juneau. You will review applications, ensure timely processing, and guide staff to deliver accurate, supportive service to educators seeking certification.

This in-person role requires coordinating a small team, managing workflows, and maintaining compliance with state regulations. Strong customer service and leadership skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college, preferably in administration and/or education, AND One year of experience as an Education Associate 2 with the State of Alaska or the equivalent elsewhere.
• Six years of experience in the broad field of education, counseling or administrative services, two years of which were at the technical/paraprofessional level.
• Any combination of the above; substitutions allowed for education/experience balance.

Responsibilities

• Lead in a customer-focused role within DEED’s Teacher Certification office and act as the office lead.
• Review and evaluate certification applications in accordance with Alaska statutes, regulations and procedures.
• Manage the Teacher Certification office in Juneau to ensure smooth operation and responsive service.
