Job summary

Millennium Health LLC in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Full-Time Lead Specimen Collector to ensure accurate patient specimen collection and flawless service for clinicians and patients.

The role requires handling urine and saliva collections, interfacing with the lab, maintaining supplies, and training teammates, with occasional travel for coverage.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of specimen collection experience or medical field experience preferred.
• 2+ years of customer service experience considered in place of medical experience.
• Proficiency with smartphones and computers required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Familiarity with medical billing/diagnostic codes is a plus.
• Commitment to HIPAA/HiTrust and confidentiality standards.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient urine and/or oral fluid specimens.
• Process and package collections for shipping and transport.
• Serve as liaison between the practice/clinic and the laboratory.
• Record patient details, physician orders, and pertinent lab information.
• Resolve specimen concerns with billing or patient information in the ordering portal.
• Order and maintain collection supplies inventory onsite.
• Provide support and training to new and existing team members.

Full Time Lead Specimen Collector

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Schedule: Full-Time |Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm

Millennium Health LLC is an accredited specialty laboratory with more than a decade of experience in medication monitoring and drug testing services, helping clinicians monitor use of prescription medications and illicit drugs supporting improved clinical decision-making as part of treatment for millions of Americans with chronic pain, mental illness, and substance use disorders.

The Lead Specimen Collector is a key role at Millennium Health. As our representative, this position provides exemplary care and exceptional customer service to patients, clinicians, and our laboratory.

As a Lead Specimen Collector:

• Collect patient urine and/or oral fluid (saliva) specimens
• Process and package collections or shipping
• Serve as an intermediary between the practice / clinic and the laboratory
• Record patient information, physician order details, and pertinent laboratory information
• Resolve specimen concerns with billing or patient information in ordering portal
• Order and maintain collection supplies inventory onsite
• Observe collection for Millennium Health specimens (when applicable)
• Perform audits on established internal processes (i.e workflows)
• Acts as a subject matter expert, answering questions and addressing concerns
• Provide support and training to new and existing team members
• Driving from/to multiple facilities may be required. Overnight stays for coverage may be required.

Ideal Candidate:

• 1+ year of experience as a specimen collector or experience in the medical field, directly supporting patients preferred
• 2+ years of customer service experience can be considered in place of medical experience
• Demonstrated ability to navigate a smart phone and computer required
• Valid driver’s license required
• Medical insurance/billing and/or familiarity with medications/diagnostic codes is a plus
• Ability to ensure HIPAA, HiTrust, Confidentiality and Compliance policy, procedures, and standards are always adhered to.
• Ability to ensure administrative, physical and technical cyber security controls are always adhered to.
• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Physical requirements: sitting 90%, walking 5%, standing 5%, lifting up to 20 lbs.

• Salary Range: $21-23/hr.
