Job summary

Millennium Health in Tucson, AZ seeks a Senior Specimen Collector to join our CLIA/CAP accredited lab. This full-time role travels up to 90% to start new accounts and train collectors, collecting urine/oral fluid and handling specimen processes.

Ideal candidates have 6+ months specimen collection or 1+ year in medical field, strong customer service, and a valid license. HIPAA/compliance awareness is essential; driving and travel required.

Responsibilities

• Travel to new accounts to ensure proper setup and coverage.
• Support onboarding of new Specimen Collectors in the practice.
• Collect patient urine and/or oral fluid specimens.
• Process and package collections or shipping.
• Record patient information, physician order details, and pertinent laboratory information.
• Resolve specimen concerns with billing or patient information in ordering portal.

Senior Specimen Collector

Location: Tucson, AZ

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm

Candidates must be able to travel throughout AZ and internationally, as needed.

Millennium Health LLC is an accredited specialty laboratory with more than a decade of experience in medication monitoring and drug testing services, helping clinicians monitor use of prescription medications and illicit drugs supporting improved clinical decision-making as part of treatment for millions of Americans with chronic pain, mental illness, and substance use disorders.

The Senior Specimen Collector is a key role at Millennium Health. As our representative, this position provides exemplary care and exceptional customer service to patients, clinicians, and our laboratory. This position is a cross functional subject matter expert traveling 90% of the time to start new accounts and train new Specimen Collectors in the practice.

As a Senior Specimen Collector:

Travel to new accounts to ensure proper set up and coverage

Support onboarding of new Specimen Collectors in the practice

Subject matter expert with Millennium's systems and processes

Collect patient urine and/or oral fluid (saliva) specimens

Process and package collections or shipping

Serve as an intermediary between the practice / clinic, laboratory, LSA Leadership

Record patient information, physician order details, and pertinent laboratory information

Resolve specimen concerns with billing or patient information in ordering portal

Order and maintain collection supplies inventory onsite

Observe collection for Millennium Health specimens (when applicable)

Driving from/to multiple facilities may be required

Ideal Candidate:

• 6+ months of experience as a specimen collector or 1+ years of experience in the medical field, directly supporting patients preferred
• 2+ years of customer service experience can be considered in place of medical experience
• Phlebotomy experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to navigate a smart phone and computer required
• Valid driver's license required
• Medical insurance/billing and/or familiarity with medications/diagnostic codes is a plus
• Ability to ensure HIPAA, HiTrust, Confidentiality and Compliance policy, procedures, and standards are always adhered to.
• Ability to ensure administrative, physical and technical cyber security controls are always adhered to.
• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Physical requirements: sitting 90%, walking 5%, standing 5%, lifting up to 20 lbs.

Millennium Health is a CLIA Certified and CAP Accredited specialty laboratory. We partner with a trusted and accredited background screening provider, to conduct pre-employment background checks. As part of our screening process, we will review the following:

• National, federal, and county criminal history
• Global watchlist search
• Social Security Number (SSN) trace
• FACIS (Fraud and Abuse Control Information System) Level 3 search
• SAM (System for Award Management) and OIG (Office of Inspector General) exclusions
• Education verification
• Driving record (Motor Vehicle Report)
• 5-panel urine drug screening
