Job description

Overview

Performs all duties of the Medical Assistant. Supports leadership to ensure consistency and competence in facilitating Medical Assistant new hire orientation, training, and job responsibilities. Demonstrates knowledge of and provides training in Medical Assistant clinic workflows, standard processes, provider-directed patient care, in accordance with WakeMed policies and procedures. Models adherence to standards of care, approved protocols, and standing orders. Seeks educational resources and learning experiences to maintain currency in the area of practice. Communicates effectively among clinical staff and physicians. Must be available for flexible scheduling, able to work in various locations, and adaptable to change. Understands organizational needs and supports the mission, values, and management of WakeMed Physician Practices.

Qualifications

• Required registration/certification from one of the following: American Academy of Medical Assistants, American Medical Technologists, American Registry of Medical Assistants, or the National Center for Competency Testing.
• Registered Medical Assistant licensure required.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Minimum of 3 years clinical experience in ambulatory care required.
