The Medical Assistant works interdependently with other medical professionals to provide quality health care to patients. They provide direct patient care under the supervision of a physician, performing specific services to address the personal needs and comforts of patients. The Medical Assistant understands the needs of the practice and supports its mission and values. The required registration or certification must be one of the following: American Academy of Medical Assistants, American Medical Technologists, American Registry of Medical Assistants, or the National Center for Competency Testing.

Certified Medical Assistant required within 24 months of hire or Registered Medical Assistant required within 24 months of hire.
High school diploma or equivalent required; graduate medical assisting preferred.
Two years of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant is preferred. Certification as a Medical Assistant or registration as a Medical Assistant is required within 24 months of hire.
