Job summary

Rolls-Royce in Aiken, South Carolina, is seeking a Team Leader for the Off Shift to oversee hourly machine operators and assemblers in the heavy-duty engine components line.

You will monitor gauges, quality, and production standards, driving improvements, and keeping management updated on progress and issues. Strong mechanical background and Siemens control systems knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 2 years in a mechanical, maintenance or machining trade school or equivalent associate’s degree; OR 8 years experience in heavy-duty machining.
• Advanced knowledge of Siemens control systems, machines and tools, including repair and maintenance.
• Ability to interpret SPC data and operate scanning devices for system communications.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate hourly machine operators and assemblers in heavy-duty engine component production.
• Observe work, monitor gauges, quality, and standard times to ensure production standards.
• Identify non-value-added work and recommend improvements to methods, equipment, and quality.

Work Pattern: FT - Off Shift working schedule is Monday through Thursday night, 7:30pm to 6:00am with overtime on Friday nights.

What you will be doing?

• Oversee and coordinate the activities of hourly machine operators and assemblers engaged in the manufacturing of heavy-duty engine components.
• Observe work and monitor gauges, quality, standard time and other indicators to ensure that team members conform to production standards.
• Identify and reduce non-value-added work and recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality standards.
• Keep management abreast of progress, developments and pending problems.

Basic Requirements

• Achieve points for Level 4 in the Skilled Based Pay Training Matrix
• High School Diploma/GED and 2 years in a mechanical, maintenance or machining trade school or equivalent associate’s degree; OR 8 years of experience in a heavy-duty machining environment.
• Advanced knowledge of SIEMENS control systems, machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
• Advanced ability to interpret Statistical Process Control (SPC) and operate scanning devices for system communications.

Preferred Requirements

• Knowledge of MTU DD products, policies and procedures
• Proficient in PC and use of the Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word)
• Knowledge of SAP system.
