Job summary

Marvin seeks a Controls & Automation Team Lead to drive reliable, safe automation across our manufacturing operations. You will lead a small team to design, program, troubleshoot, and improve PLC, HMI, robotics, and motion systems powering our production lines.

You’ll manage automation projects from concept through startup, partner with maintenance, engineering, and production, and mentor technicians in a people-first culture focused on continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and schedule a team of controls and automation technicians/engineers.
• Design, program, and maintain PLC, HMI, robotics, and motion control systems for manufacturing lines.
• Troubleshoot automation and electrical issues to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
• Manage automation projects from requirements and design through installation, commissioning, and handoff.
• Develop and maintain documentation, standards, and best practices for controls systems.
• Collaborate with maintenance, production, and engineering to prioritize and execute improvement initiatives.
• Implement and support data collection, OEE, and monitoring systems to enhance visibility and performance.
• Ensure compliance with electrical and safety standards, including machine guarding and lockout/tagout.
• Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities in quality, throughput, and energy efficiency.
• Support capital planning and vendor management for automation equipment and services.
