Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Lead Coordinator for Benefits Eligibility and Authorization to oversee the Eligibility and Authorization team’s daily operations across all patient accounts and lines of business. You will balance hands-on eligibility verification with leadership duties and performance reporting.

The role requires strong problem-solving, HIPAA-compliant handling of patient information, and excellent collaboration with clinical and revenue cycle teams to minimize delays in

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of experience in medical office setting preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology and payer requirements (Medicaid/Medicare Advantage)
• Experience with billing workflows, prior authorizations, and high-risk denials
• Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding and EOB interpretations
• Strong customer service and confidentiality under HIPAA

Responsibilities

• Provide daily workflow support and problem-solving for Eligibility and Authorization coordinators
• Respond to questions regarding policies, complex cases, and system issues
• Train and onboard new coordinators and monitor performance
• Coordinate information with other internal teams within 24 hours
• Oversee and guide prior authorizations for oncology and imaging therapies
• Maintain up-to-date payer requirements and notify leadership of issues
• Ensure patient confidentiality and high-quality customer service
