Job summary

Marquardt U.S. is seeking a purchasing professional to drive supplier development and secure supply for critical electronics components, including boards and electromechanical parts, across multiple projects.

You will lead negotiations, manage supplier performance with cross-functional teams, ensure policy compliance, and contribute to cost reductions while balancing schedules. Experience with SAP ERP, strong negotiation, and project management are essential, as is the ability to collaborate

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain or related field preferred.
• 5+ years related experience in a manufacturing and electronic component purchasing environment desirable.
• Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the mechanical/electromechanics/electronics supplier base and supply chain for assigned projects including escalation of quality & logistics issues
• Lead / support negotiations with suppliers for assigned commodities to achieve the best price, quality and schedule
• Support purchasing activities for cross-functional product development programs
• Utilize organization-wide purchasing policies and ensure compliance
• Work with Quality to develop and maintain supplier performance
• Coordinate the qualification of new suppliers
• Research new sources of materials, supplies, and services making recommendations to reduce costs and improve quality
• Maintain all required records of purchases, prices, and deliveries
• Serve as technical resource in matters related to changing market conditions
• Participation in cost reduction activities to meet Purchasing targets
• Coordinate and balance workload across Advance Purchasing Team to meet new program time lines

Job description

This position is responsible for the execution of all purchasing requirements with a primary focus on ensuring security of supply, reducing costs and developing suppliers.

Essential Functions

• Develop and manage the mechanical/electromechanics/electronics supplier base and supply chain for assigned projects including escalation of quality & logistics issues
• Lead / support negotiations with suppliers for assigned commodities to achieve the best price, quality and schedule
• Support purchasing activities for cross-functional product development programs

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Advanced knowledge of supplier development and sourcing in a manufacturing environment
• Previous experience with board-level electronic, PCB and electromechanical component is preferred
• SAP ERP experience is preferred
• Advanced computer skills, including the use of Windows, email and Microsoft Office
• Advanced verbal communication skills, including negotiation and influencing
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with senior management, supervisors, vendors, and employees
• Demonstrated project management skills
