Job summary

SMF Minonk, part of Etnyre International, is seeking a Value Stream Leader to drive daily production and coach a team in a fast-paced metal fabrication environment in Minonk, IL. This leadership role focuses on safety, quality, and continuous improvement, partnering with the Value Stream Manager to meet production goals and develop employees across the operation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in heavy metal fabrication, with welding expertise.
• Minimum 5 years of leadership in a manufacturing production environment.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.

• Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple responsibilities, and adapt to changing production demands.

Responsibilities

In this key leadership role, you will support the Value Stream Manager by leading daily production activities, coaching team members, ensuring safety and quality standards, and helping achieve operational goals. You will play an essential part in fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Do

• Lead and support manufacturing employees by communicating expectations, coaching performance, and promoting employee development.
• Partner with the Value Stream Manager to train, mentor, and develop team members while creating opportunities for growth.
• Monitor production workflows to ensure efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery.
• Schedule and assign work to meet daily production and shipping requirements.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance workflows.

• Promote a positive and collaborative work environment through effective communication and employee engagement.
• Champion workplace safety by enforcing safety regulations, maintaining a clean work environment, and ensuring proper use of equipment and resources.
• Support daily production operations by assisting with hands-on manufacturing work as needed.

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or GED required
• Experience in heavy metal fabrication environment, particularly expertise with welding
• Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing production environment
• Demonstrated knowledge of manufacturing processes and work functions within assigned departments
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple responsibilities, and adapt to changing production demands
• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
