Job summary

Milwaukee Tool is seeking a Team Lead - Materials to oversee receiving, storage, distribution, and movement of materials on the production floor. You will mentor new hires, test forklift drivers, and ensure timely shipments while maintaining a clean, safe work area.

The role emphasizes leadership of materials staff, adherence to work instructions and safety standards, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to keep production flowing smoothly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in material handling.
• Understand and follow verbal and written instructions, as well as drawings and blueprints.
• Basic math skills.
• Knowledge of JDE Material Handler Menu.
• Certified forklift operator.
• Train others.
• Test forklift drivers.
• Ability to direct the work of others on the team.

Responsibilities

• Receive, store, and distribute materials and equipment and ensure correct delivery and shipment.
• Coordinate the work of other materials employees and train all new material handler hires.
• Operate forklift and test forklift drivers for certification.
• Perform work within takt/cycle time and per work instructions.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and manage material movement to points of use.
• Inform proper personnel of material shortages and reorder as needed.
• Support safety practices including 5S in the work area.

You’ll also be DISRUPTIVE through these duties and responsibilities:

• The Team Lead -Materials is responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials and equipment and ensures correct delivery and shipment of materials. This position will coordinate the work of other materials employees and train all new material handler new hires. Act as the forklift driving tester for those employees seeking a forklift driving license.
• Perform work within takt/cycle time
• Perform work per work instructions
• Train and mentor new material handlers on the team
• Monitor/test new forklift drivers and recertifications
• Provide and process movement of material to point of use
• Keep work area clean by disposing empty boxes and cardboard, as well as keeping material around the assembly line in order and neat
• Inform proper personnel of material shortage
• Check in and place materials from other cells
• Operate forklift
• Adhere to all safety requirements in the work area
• Practice 5Ss

What TOOLS you’ll bring with you:
