Job Purpose

To ensure a continuous flow of work through the designated cell or department and assist Team Leaders in daily administrative duties relating to Production Reporting, Time and Attendance, and Performance Management.

Description

1st shift: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Rate per hour: $18.00.

Job Duties
Ensure a continuous flow of work (40%)
  • Balance workflow by moving associates to avoid bottlenecks
  • Ensure material availability and enter requisitions
  • Communicate production issues with the Team Coordinator or Team Leader on the following shift
  • Keep records of cross‑training, identify opportunities, and administer a training update schedule
  • Coordinate with Maintenance to resolve equipment issues
  • Search for and recommend process improvements
Perform Time and Attendance actions (10%)
  • Process time cards for regular and temporary associates
  • Administer daily report‑offs in a timely manner
  • Track and enter department changes
  • Schedule and approve vacation/bonus allowances under established guidelines for each area
Complete production reporting (30%)
  • Verify accuracy and completeness of production information
  • Enter production numbers into spreadsheets and print/post weekly production graphs
  • Analyze production numbers and report outstanding findings to the Team Leader
Complete performance management issues (10%)
  • Provide information and feedback to supervisors/team leaders regarding associate performance
  • Prepare and discuss Individual Improvement Plans and/or Balanced Scorecards with team members
  • Coordinate new hires and transfers with training coordinators
  • Coordinate quality documentation with the Team Leader or Training Coordinator
Maintain a safe work environment (5%)
  • Report safety concerns to Team Leaders, Safety Point Associates, or Safety Engineer
  • Ensure safety audits are completed on time
  • Assist with accident investigations
Perform direct manufacturing duties (5%)

Perform direct manufacturing duties as time allows.

Requirements
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years manufacturing/leadership experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Use project planning and scheduling methodology
  • Clearly define and utilize processes in daily work
  • Understand SFW team structure, roles, and responsibilities
  • Integrate process methodology into daily work (MPI, QAT, 5S, 6D, Q@S, etc.)
  • Seek innovative ways to streamline work processes across the division and involve stakeholders
  • Identify gaps using tools such as Baldridge criteria, WI Forward Award criteria, GPTW, IDP, etc.
  • Establish forums to share best practices
  • Use department and company scorecards and other metrics
  • Measure own work and report results at micro and macro levels
