Job summary

Werner Enterprises offers a paid summer internship at our Corporate Headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska. The 11-week immersion provides real-world experience with dedicated training and learning opportunities, including housing support where available.

Interns welcome professional drivers, manage driver portfolios, and help teams align on home time, pay expectations, and road life. This program emphasizes collaboration, inclusivity, and career development through mentoring and projects.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Communications, or a related field.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and willingness to engage with people in a respectful and engaging manner.
• Ability to stay organized and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Welcome and onboard professional drivers to Werner Enterprises and introduce them to the Team Development process.
• Manage a portfolio of professional drivers, supporting them in finding a compatible team driving partner.
• Facilitate conversations around home time preferences, compensation expectations, and road-life adjustments.
• Build relationships with drivers to support teaming decisions and long-term retention.

Internship Overview:

• Paid internship that includes dedicated job training and learning opportunities

Responsibilities:

• Welcome and onboard professional drivers to Werner Enterprises, introducing them to the Team Development process
• Manage a portfolio of professional drivers, supporting them in finding a compatible team driving partner
• Facilitate conversations around key teaming factors such as home time preferences, compensation expectations, and adjustment to life on the road
• Build relationships with professional drivers through direct interaction, helping them navigate teaming decisions and contributing to long-term retention and satisfaction

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Communications, or a related field
