As a Team Assistant (Permanent, Full-Time, Start date: Immediately; Location: Kirkland Lake), you will support the assigned team in their daily activities to ensure that patients receive prompt, effective customer service.

Whether working in our office, in the community, or a healthcare facility – you will play a key role in providing connected, accessible, patient-centered care, supported by our collaborative team of over 9,000 healthcare and other professionals.

What will you do?

  • Provide administrative support services to Care Coordinators
  • Process new referrals, orders for services, supplies, and equipment
  • Manage confidential patient records
  • Enter, update, and maintain a high volume of patient data in the electronic database
  • Answer numerous telephone inquiries from patients, families, and service providers, referring callers as appropriate
  • Provide backup support to other positions as required

What must you have?

  • A Grade 12 diploma (minimum)
  • 2+ years of related office experience
  • Accurate keyboarding/data-entry skills
  • Proficiency with database software, MS Word, Excel, and other Windows applications
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Advanced multi-tasking skills to meet performance and service goals
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to interact tactfully and sensitively with patients from diverse backgrounds
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong listening skills
  • Flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends as needed
  • Proficiency in English and French is essential

We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy. All employees are required to submit proof of vaccination before starting employment.

What would give you an edge?

  • A college diploma in health, social services, business, or office administration
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and administrative procedures
  • Knowledge of services provided by Ontario Health at Home
  • Ability to speak French or another second language
