Job summary

Patchogue-Medford School District is seeking a dedicated teaching assistant to support instruction for individuals and small groups, and to assist with instructional materials and student activities. The role includes helping with basic personal care activities as directed and collecting data for behavior modification and learning progress tracking.

The position requires NYS Level I–III Teaching Assistant Certification or NYS Teacher Certification.

Qualifications

Must hold a valid NYS Level I, II, or III Teaching Assistant Certification or NYS Teacher Certification.
Experience with children with disabilities preferred.
Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Provide instruction to individual and small groups of students.
Assist students in the use of instructional materials and aids.
Assist students with activities of personal care/hygiene/toileting as applicable.
Utilize personal skills to assist in the instructional program as directed by the teacher.
Provide the teacher with information about the students that will assist in the development of appropriate learning activities.
Implementation of behavior modification and other data collection.
Participate in professional development activities as directed by administration.
