Job summary

Hudson Falls Central School District is seeking a Teaching Assistant to provide instructional supports to students under supervision of a certified teacher and to assist in developing appropriate learning experiences.

The role involves working with individual or groups of students, reviewing lessons, handling IEP-related data, and helping with assistive technology and materials as directed by the teacher and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Passing ATAS.
• Completion of three workshops (Child Abuse Identification, School Violence Intervention and Prevention, Dignity for All Students Act).
• 9 semester hours of college coursework (Level II).
• 1 year of experience as a teaching assistant (Level II).
• 18 semester hours of college coursework (Level III).

Responsibilities

• Reteach lessons prepared and developed by the teacher.
• Assist students with behavioral/management needs.
• Assist with daily classroom setup/preparation as directed by the teacher.
• Help students navigate the school environment.
• Communicate effectively with teacher and necessary staff members.
• Foster student independence.
