Job summary

The Neuroscience Program at William & Mary invites applications for a 3 year, non-tenure track Assistant Teaching Professor of Neuroscience instructional position beginning August 10, 2027. The candidate will teach courses across cellular and molecular neuroscience and mentor undergraduates, carrying a 3–3 teaching load.

We seek an individual with expertise in cellular, molecular, or quantitative approaches in Neuroscience and a strong record of effective teaching.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Biology or closely related discipline.
• 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline in which they will teach.
• Ability to teach Neuroscience courses such as the introductory class and other lecture/seminar-style courses in cellular and molecular neuroscience.
• Ability to mentor undergraduate Neuroscience majors.

Responsibilities

• Teach Neuroscience courses, including the introductory class, “Exploring Neuroscience: Molecules, Cells and Synapses,” and other lecture/seminar-style courses in cellular and molecular neuroscience.
• Contribute to mentoring of undergraduate Neuroscience majors.
