Job summary

University of Nevada, Reno invites applications for a nine-month Teaching Assistant Professor in Neuroscience within the interdisciplinary BS degree program. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate neuroscience courses (behavioral, computational, cognitive neuroscience), advising students, and serving as Co-Director of the neuroscience degree program.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Psychology, Cognitive Science, or related field before start date.
• Ability to teach undergraduate Behavioral, Computational and Cognitive Neuroscience including lab-based courses.
• Commitment to student advising, mentoring, and academic success.
• Ability to collaborate across multiple departments to support the undergraduate Neuroscience program.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate neuroscience courses (Behavioral, Computational, Cognitive Neuroscience).
• Develop and mount a new laboratory course in Human Cognitive Neuroscience.
• Advise undergraduate students and serve as Co-Director of the Neuroscience degree program.
• Maintain a teaching load of four to five courses per academic year; teach winter/summer sessions for extra compensation.
• Contribute to program development and administration of the interdisciplinary degree.
