Antioch University’s Graduate School of Leadership and Change is seeking a part-time Teaching Assistant for Conservation Biology (ESS 5630) for Fall semester. The position runs from Aug 31, 2026 to Dec 11, 2026, with 10 hours per week and 25% remote work.

Applicants must be enrolled students at Antioch University in the United States. The TA will attend in-person class sessions, assist with labs, tutor students, help with grading, and support course preparation under supervision.

Qualifications

• Strong background in Conservation Biology and having taken the class at Antioch University in a past year.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability and interest in working with other graduate students to build knowledge and skills.
• Ability to attend class on Fridays.

Responsabilités

• Teach Conservation Biology (ESS 5630) in fall, attend in-person class and assist with labs.
• Provide tutoring and assist students with assignments and the final project (approx 3 hours/week).
• Help with grading assignments and sourcing current Conservation Biology topics in the news.
• Prepare for class and coordinate time with students for outside-class work.

Job Description

• Teaching Assistant for Conservation Biology class (ESS 5630) in the fall. Attend class sessions (fully in person) and help answer questions and provide support to small groups of students during in-class labs (3.5 hours/week).
• Arrange time outside of class to be available to students for working on class assignments and the final project, and to provide tutoring in content and skills to students who need additional support (3 hours/week).
• Assistant may also help with grading assignments (1.5 hour/week), finding Conservation Biology topics in the current news (1 hour/week), and preparing for class (1 hour/week).
• Work will occur during class time as well as outside of class as arranged with individuals or groups of students.

Qualifications

• Strong background in Conservation Biology, and have already taken the class at AUNE in a past year.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability and interest in working with other graduate students to build knowledge and skills.
• Ability to attend class on Fridays.
