Capital Region BOCES in Albany is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for special education roles across multiple locations. Candidates will support teachers by organizing materials, reinforcing lesson concepts, and assisting with behavior management for disabled students.

Qualificações

LOCATION: Special Education – Multiple Locations

BASIC FUNCTION

Enforcement of previously introduced skills and implementation of daily classroom routines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. To carry out the organization of instructional materials and learning centers as planned and directed by the classroom teacher.
2. To monitor and reinforce skills and concepts previously taught by the teacher in individual or small group learning situations within the educational environment and under the supervision and control of the classroom teacher.
3. Sign language skills required for some classrooms.

SALARY

BOCES employee salary commensurate with experience and in accordance with contract language.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. The selected applicant must hold NYS Teaching Assistant certificate or must apply for certification at the time of hire (requirements include but not limited to high school diploma/GED/HSE, $35 filing fee, NYS certification ATAS exam, workshops).
2. Experience with students who are disabled and in need of behavior management.

The selected applicant will be subject to a fingerprint supported criminal history background check in accordance with SAVE Legislation effective July 1, 2001.
