Job summary

SCO Family of Services is seeking a dedicated Teacher's Assistant to support students with special needs in a New York setting. You will work with classroom teachers to deliver targeted instruction to individuals and small groups, helping them stay engaged and on track.

Responsibilities include monitoring student attendance, collecting assignments, and assisting with behavior management and crisis interventions.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• State Central Register clearance checks, driver license and fingerprinting as required.
• Teacher's Assistant certificate is not required but preferred.
• Clean and valid NYS driver’s license preferred.
• Experience working with developmentally disabled/traumatic brain injury individuals preferred.

• Complete students point sheets.

• Record information behavior on ABC sheets.
• Complete information, behavior, and incident reports when necessary.
• Provide communication to the Behavior Support team regarding any behavior requiring intervention.
• Monitor attendance of all students assigned to their class.
• Perform all duties as assigned.

• Performs all duties as assigned.

II. QUALIFICATIONS:

• A minimum high school diploma or GED
• Acceptable clearance checks for State Central Register, Driver license and fingerprinting as required by the program.
• A Teacher's Assistant certificate is not require but preferred.
• A clean and valid NYS driver’s license preferred.
• Experience working with people with developmental disabilities/traumatic brain injuries preferred.
