As a Teaching Assistant working in our Richmond campus, you are part of the educational staff responsible for implementing instructional and communication-development activities throughout the day, assessing progress, and supporting key skills for growth.

  • Work schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm.

Job Summary:

We will train you to perform all necessary duties when working with students, including:

  • Providing instruction (one-on-one or small group) and teaching new skills in various environments.
  • Facilitating participation in recreational and physical education activities.
  • Supporting students during off-campus community activities.
  • Collecting data to measure student progress.
  • Collaborating with a team to help students meet educational and life goals.
  • Assisting with activities of daily living, including hygiene and toileting support.
  • Supporting individuals who may display disruptive, aggressive, or self-injurious behaviors.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate or Bachelor degree preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals with cognitive and physical disabilities is valuable, but a strong desire to make a difference is most important.
