Job Overview

At The Faison Center, we are dedicated to creating life-changing opportunities for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. As a Teaching Assistant at our Richmond campus, you will implement instructional and communication development activities, assess progress, and support key skills for growth.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide instruction in one-on-one or small group settings
  • Facilitate participation in recreational and physical activities
  • Support students during off-campus activities
  • Collect data to monitor student progress
  • Collaborate with team members to help students achieve educational and life goals
  • Assist with activities of daily living, including hygiene and toileting
  • Support individuals displaying disruptive, aggressive, or self-injurious behaviors
Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate or Bachelor degree preferred
  • Experience working with individuals with cognitive and physical disabilities is a plus, but a strong desire to make a difference is most important
